Meet Dr. John Barnes D.C.

Dr. John L. Barnes is both a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic and Certified Fitness Trainer. He is the director of Barnes Chiropractic Health & Fitness, a multi-disciplinary wellness center in a suburb of Washington, DC. In his practice, he has had the opportunity to work with high school, college, semi-professional and professional athletes. 

Dr. Barnes received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology/Exercise from the College of William & Mary in 1989. he later attended New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1994. Upon graduation, Dr. Barnes served as adjunct faculty of NYCC in addition to treating patients in the Seneca Falls campus clinic. 

In 1997, he opened his solo practice, Barnes Chiropractic in Centreville, which has grown into a successful multi-disciplinary wellness center. During this time, Dr. Barnes has continued his post-graduate training in fitness and chiropractic. He completed his certification in fitness training (CFT) under the International Sports Sciences Academy (ISSA) and currently teaches seminars to doctors and personal trainers on topics in chiropractic and fitness. In addition to these roles, Dr. Barnes serves as an official for the International Federation of Bodybuilders (IFBB), the governing body of the sport of professional bodybuilding. 

Dr. Barnes enjoys blending his background in fitness and human performance with chiropractic care to give each patient the ability to achieve higher levels of health and fitness than they thought possible.
