Meet Cortney A. Price C.M.T. Cortney received her training in deep tissue and Swedish massage techniques at the Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI) in Washington, DC. She is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and the Virginia Department of Health Professions. She is also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).
Cortney draws from her own personal experience of back pain at an early age to relate to her clients. She says, “As far back as I can remember, my mom's ‘amateur back rubs’ were my way of dealing with unexplained chronic back pain. In college, a future chiropractor and friend introduced me to chiropractic care as a way to alleviate this needless suffering. Together, massage therapy and chiropractic care made me realize that pain is not something you just have to accept.”
Her experience has inspired her to become the professional she is today… “It was then that I decided to pursue a career in massage therapy. It is an honor and a pleasure to introduce others to the stress-relieving, pain-alleviating, healing qualities of massage as a step to achieving total body health, especially when coupled with chiropractic care and exercise.”
We are excited she has joined our team at Barnes Chiropractic Health & Fitness. Dr. Barnes explains, “I remember, the day Cortney told me she was enrolling in PMTI to become a massage therapist, I told her she had a job waiting for her in our practice. I can’t believe how time flew and that she has become such a valued member of our team in such a short time. I hope all of our patients take the opportunity to benefit from Cortney’s healing touch!” |
